Spicy Tomato Chutney

  • 400 gr. Ripe tomatoes.
  • 150 gr. Apple.
  • 200 gr. Red onion.
  • 150 gr. Brown sugar.
  • 150 ml . Sherry balsamic vinegar.
  • Salt.
  • Grated ginger.
  • Dill.
  • 2 Cayenne pepper.

Peel the tomatoes, onions and apples and chop into irregular dices. Place balsamic vinegar and spices to taste with salt in a Magefesa Stainless Steel Dutch Oven, cook it over low heat until sugar dissolves. Add the tomato, onion, apple and continue cooking for about 40 min. or until you get a jam texture. Pack the hot chutney into sterilized jars , place upside down until cooled down. Keep in the refrigerator. We must preferably wait about 15 days for the chutney to be done to perfection.
It can be used to accompany grilled meats , barbecues , fresh cheeses , sausages , burgers, etc. Depending on the power of the heat and moisture of the ingredients, adding some water while cooking may be required.
