Falafel, Chickpeas Croquettes

Ingredients

  • 300 gr. Chickpeas
  • 1 big Red onion
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • Coriander
  • Parsley
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Cumin
  • Paprika
  • ½ tbs. Baking powder
  • Virgin olive oil
  • Grated bread

Instructions

Leave chickpeas to soak into cold water for 24 h. Drain and wash the chickpeas, set them in the jar of a Magefesa Blender together with the garlic and grind. A bit of water may be added to easy the process. Add the onion, coriander, parsley, spices to taste, salt and yeast. Continue to grind until we get a thick sauce.   Let it rest in a bowl for 20 minutes. Form small balls with the dough, with a croquette or hamburger form. Fry them in a Magefesa Skillet with plenty of oil until felafel balls are browned both sides and well done. Let the fat surplus drain on a kitchen towel. Serve them hot accompanied by salad and yogurt sauce.
Felafel is a very representative dish of Arabic food. It is usually served as a pita bread sandwich with salad, sauces and pickles.
