MAGEFESA stainless steel flatware is made of high quality stainless steel, designed to be durable and, with proper care, can last a lifetime.
Here are some tips for the best ways to properly care for your stainless steel flatware:
- Do not leave your stainless steel flatware soaking in water for a long period of time, especially overnight, wash it immediately after use. Allowing your flatware to soak in standing water for days on end may result in corrosion.
- Try not to allow food to remain on your flatware for too long. Note that certain foods are acidic or contain properties that can damage your stainless steel flatware. Some foods that can cause harm to your stainless steel flatware are as follows: tea, coffee, vinegar, salt, orange juice, mustard or mayonnaise.
- If you decide to hand-wash your flatware, use mild dish detergents and warm water. No other special treatment is needed. Avoid dish detergents with lemon or orange additives, as these acidic additives can cause corrosion of your stainless steel.
- It is perfectly safe if you prefer to put your stainless steel flatware in the dishwasher. Avoid using liquid or powder detergents that contain bleach or heavy chlorination, as they can erode away the protective coating on your flatware.
- Carefully load your flatware into your dishwasher. Always load forks and spoons with the handles down and place knives separately with the blades down for safety.
- Dry your stainless steel flatware as soon as possible after cleaning. Whether you are washing your flatware by hand or in the dishwasher, it is important to dry it promptly so spotting, streaking, discoloration or corrosion does not occur. Although MAGEFESA stainless steel flatware is dishwasher safe, we recommend to remove it after the rinse cycle and dry by hand to avoid rust.
- Keep cutlery away from heat sources.
- Do not use scour pads or abrasive cleaners.Definitely, stainless steel flatware used on a daily basis with proper care will prevent your cutlery from getting stains, while extending the life of your MAGEFESA flatware.
